About Annette and Websites
It seems only fair that if you're going to place your webring in my care, you might like to know a little about me. I have been maintaining my own website since around 1996 when I found a book called 'Using HTML 3.2' in a bargain book bin, but it was only when we got some rats as pets in 2001 that things really took off. To begin with they had a small corner of our family website - the 'Ratty Corner', but they soon took over somewhat and gained their own domain at www.rattycorner.com. Since then my rat site has expanded, and I've also taken on the maintenance of our local rat club website, The Midlands Rat Club, setting up a web forum and maintaining the site. The petscorner.org domain was obtained for the purpose of hosting pet websites for some of my friends, but never really took off. I kept it simply because some people still have their webpages on it. I have been a member of several rat related webrings at webrings.com, but when I came to set up one of my own I was reluctant to put it on a site which would add pest control adverts to the page. I also seem to have hit upon a time when there was a lot of controversy about the site going commercial. Having discovered the Ringlink system, which I installed on my own server to host my own webring, I then decided to host other pet related webrings. Pets Corner seemed like a good place to do it. I have the time, I have the server, I have the domain, and now I have the system set up. So, that's who you're dealing with. If you'd like to come aboard then you're welcome. Annette Rand, Admin |
